“Failed to read highlights data from file “…” Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.” error is thrown after saving Profiler Capture
Reproduction steps:
1. Create a new project
2. Window > Analysis > Profiler
3. Make sure that Frame Count value is bigger than 600 (Unity > Settings… > Analysis > Profiler)
4. Make sure that Profiler is set to record and is profiling in Edit Mode or Play Mode
5. Set Profiler Target Frame Time to 30 FPS
6. Set Frame Count value to 600 (Unity > Settings… > Analysis > Profiler)
7. Save Profile Capture in the Profiler and observe the Console
Actual result: “Failed to read highlights data from file “…” Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.” error is thrown
Expected result: No warnings or errors are thrown
Reproducible with: 6000.3.0a5, 6000.3.9f1, 6000.4.0b9, 6000.5.0a7
Not reproducible with: 6000.0.67f1, 6000.3.0a4
Reproduced on: Ubuntu 24.04, macOS Sequoia 26.2 (M4)
Note: Not a regression due to issue being not reproducible in the versions that don't have Capture List section and throw "Save Window" pop-up when saving Profile Capture
