[Asset Management] 'Compress Assets On Import' Performance regression when switching between platforms
Steps to reproduce -
- Ensure "Compress assets on import" is disabled.
- Switch platform between Android & iOS in Unity 5.5.1 - observe the time taken to switch platform.
- Load up the project in Unity 4.7.2 & switch platform between versions, observe the platform switch is instantaneous.
Actual -
In Unity versions >= 5.x the platform switch time is proportional to the number of textures stored in the project.
Expected -
In Unity 4.x if "Compress Assets On Import" was disabled platform switching was instantaneous.
