Collaborate updates take a long time on big projects
Collaborate takes forever
STILL INVESTIGATING CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE
1. What happened
When receiving an update from colaborate, unity seems to reimport and recompile the whole project which takes a lot of time.
I don't have an other big project to try it on but can confirm it does it on every machine.
2. How we can reproduce it using the example you attached

For us the second most annoying Collaborate problem. Especially since it will do this again when Unity crashes or you have to restart, and also sometimes while working, because Unity lost the link to the accounts server (something like that)

We have having the same problem on all our PCs, but curiously it is not happening on our PowerMac.

I will add that we found it on 2018.2 and hope fix will be also for that version, not only for 2018.3

We have the same problem, With our proejct every time we download changes from collab, it reimport whole proejct, what makes every day changes download almost impossible... Hope Unity could fix that fast :)

Resolution Note:
Converting this from a bug into a work item where we can properly give the issue the attention it needs. Fixing this will require more effort than time for a bug fix will allow. This is a high priority issue in our efforts to scale up the size of projects that Collab can handle in the coming years.
