Branch editing tools draw flashing lines with black backgrounds in Editor UI windows
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new project.
- Right-click Hierarchy > 3D Object > Tree.
- Select Tree to view in inspector.
- Click on the branch group in the tree graph.
- In the Tree component, choose "Move Branch", "Rotate Branch" or "Free Hand" and use any of the tools.
Actual results: Lines in the same shape of the tree branch with choppy black backgrounds flash and disappear in various editor windows, sometimes multiple at once.
Expected results: This doesn't happen.
Reproducible with versions:
- 6000.0.21f1, 2022.3.47f1, 2021.3.44f1, 2021.3.26f1
Not reproducible with versions: 2021.2.0a1, 2021.2.0b1, *2021.3.25f1 (See notes)
Can't test with versions:
Tested on (OS): MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1
Notes:
- There seem to have been continuous but different issues with branch tools affecting UI since somewhere in the 2021.2. beta versions, but the "Regressed from" is when the big line and choppy black backgrounds started appearing.
If any of the following problems need more extensive testing, please contact ticket reporter:
* {}2021.3.25f1{}, 2021.2.19f1 - the flashing is a much smaller box at the top left of the inspector, and a tiny line is visible in the corner of that.
* 2021.2.0b16 - scene view flashes and a tiny line is visible in the top of the inspector, no black box.
Using Metal and Silicon editor.
- Lines are sometimes yellow, sometimes pink, not sure why.
