Negative speed in states or blend trees causes root motion character to warp into a new position
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project
2. Open and play Repro scene
3. Watch as the character warps into a new position after the WalkStrafe animation is complete
4. One can check animator, Blend Tree uses negative time value. Changing it to positive, doesn't warp character into a new position
