Animator jumps to the default state when clicking in different states within the Animator window

Animation

-

The Animator goes back to the default state in an undetermined moment after clicking several times in the states within the Animator window, breaking the flow of the Animator

To reproduce:

1. Download attached project "AnimatorControllerTests.zip" and open in Unity
2. Open "SampleScene" Scene
3. Open Animator window
4. Enter Play mode
5. Select the GameObject named "Animator" in Hierarchy window
6. In the Animator window, fire manually the trigger A to B.
7. Observe that when the Animator is in the state B (for simplicity, it occurs no matter the state the animator is), click in a random order in the other states until the Animator jumps back to the default state.

Notes:
- This issue reproduces on both Windows and OSX
- Video with the issue reproduction is shared in Comments section
- Could not check on Unity 2018.3 because project becomes corrupted

Reproduced on Unity 2017.1.4p2, 2017.2.3p2, 2017.3.2f1, 2017.4.7f1, 2018.1.8f1 and 2018.2.0f2

  1. Resolution Note:

This is expected behavior that modifying the StateMachine in any way, resets the StateMachine to its default state
