[Android] Textures glitch when building on some PowerVR GE8320 devices
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached “repro“ project
2. Build and Run for Android
3. Complete the tutorial race
4. Follow the guidelines to enter the next race
5. Complete the race
6. Observe the Scene
Expected result: Leaderboard and horse are rendered correctly
Actual result: The background turns blue and the horse textures glitch before rendering
Reproducible with: 2020.3.44f1
Couldn’t test with: 2021.3.17f1, 2022.2.3f1, 2023.1.0a25 (Errors in the console after version upgrade)
Reproducible with these devices:
Huawei - (MED-LX9N), Android 10, CPU: MediaTek MT6762R, GPU: PowerVR Rogue GE8320
Not reproducible with these devices:
Xiaomi - (M2006C3LG), Android 10, CPU: MediaTek Helio G25 (MT6762G), GPU: PowerVR Rogue GE8320
Samsung Galaxy S22 (SM-S901B), Android 12, CPU: Exynos 2200, GPU: Ltd.
Google Pixel 7 (Pixel 7), Android 13, CPU: Google Tensor G2, GPU: Mali-G710

Latest issues

We have reviewed the issue carefully, and in this case, the team is unable to prioritize fixing this bug. There are a number of reasons we make this decision, including the impact and severity of the issue across our user and customer base. As this just repros on a single Huawei device, and not on all IMG GE8320 GPUs, we won't be able to prioritize this higher and we will be closing this case.
