[Android][Cardboard,Daydream] Black screen rendered with Single Pass stereo rendering with GLSL shader on Android

How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project
2. Build & Run to Android (make sure to have Single-Pass stereo rendering selected)

Expected result: A skybox shader renders different colours in each eye(cyan in left eye and yellow in right eye)
Actual result: After the Unity splash screen, the skybox is black with the following errors in the log:
"OPENGL NATIVE PLUG-IN ERROR: GL_INVALID_OPERATION: Operation illegal in current state"

Reproducible with - 2018.2.0a5, 2018.1.0b11, 2017.3.2f1, 2017.2.2p1, 2017.1.3p2, 5.6.5p2, 5.6.0f3

Note - Bug happens with both Daydream and Cardboard, since I could only reproduce on Pixel, did not test on Oculus.

  1. Resolution Note (2018.1.X):

    With Google’s recent announcement of discontinuing support for Daydream, we will not address this issue, and will close this case. Please reopen the case if you feel this action is inappropriate.

    Google still supports cardboard. A few days ago they released an update to their plugin and have a roadmap for future versions. I have a lot of issues with developing an app for cardboard since a lot of shaders cause a black screen. Could you at least provide a list of which features in shaders causes black screen?
