[Adreno][Procedural Instancing] The application is closed or nothing is rendered after launching app on Adreno 540 & 630 GPUs

Mobile Graphics

-

How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached 'Swarm.zip' project (https://github.com/keijiro/Swarm)
2. Build and run a 'Test (Swirling)' scene on Android

Expected result: Particle motion within a noise field simulation is rendered
Actual result: The application is closed or nothing is rendered

Reproducible: 2018.4.15f1, 2019.3.0f4, 2020.1.0a19

Reproducible with:
VLNQA00015, Samsung Galaxy Note8 (SM-N950W), Android 8.0.0, CPU: Snapdragon 835 MSM8998, GPU: Adreno (TM) 540
VLNQA00118, Google Pixel 2 XL (Pixel 2 XL), Android 8.1.0, CPU: Snapdragon 835 MSM8998, GPU: Adreno (TM) 540
VLNQA00230, Oneplus OnePlus6T (ONEPLUS A6013), Android 9, CPU: Snapdragon 845 SDM845, GPU: Adreno (TM) 630
VLNQA00001, Google Pixel 2 (Pixel 2), Android 9, CPU: Snapdragon 835 MSM8998, GPU: Adreno (TM) 540
VLNQA00150, Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960U), Android 9, CPU: Snapdragon 845 SDM845, GPU: Adreno (TM) 630

Not reproducible:
VLNQA00005, Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930V), Android 7.0, CPU: Snapdragon 820 MSM8996, GPU: Adreno (TM) 530
----------, Samsung Galaxy S10e (SM-G970U), Android 9, CPU: Snapdragon 855 SM8150, GPU: Adreno (TM) 640
----------, Xiaomi Mi 5s (MI 5s), Android 6.0.1, CPU: Snapdragon 820 MSM8996, GPU: Adreno (TM) 530
VLNQA00057, Htc One M9+ (HTC_M9pw), Android 5.0.2, CPU: MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T, GPU: PowerVR Rogue G6200
VLNQA00004, Meizu - (MX5), Android 5.0.1, CPU: MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T, GPU: PowerVR Rogue G6200
VLNQA000162, iPad Pro 10.5", 12.4.1

Can't reproduce, because of other issues (Case 1210569):
VLNQA00224, Samsung Galaxy A5(2017) (SM-A520F), Android 8.0.0, CPU: Exynos 7 Octa 7880, GPU: Mali-T830
VLNQA00021, Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F), Android 8.0.0, CPU: Exynos 8 Octa 8890, GPU: Mali-T880
----------, Meizu - (PRO 5), Android 7.0, CPU: Exynos 7 Octa 7420, GPU: Mali-T760
VLNQA00264, Samsung Galaxy S10+ (SM-G975F), Android 9, CPU: Exynos 9 9820, GPU: Mali-G76
----------, Samsung Galaxy S10e (SM-G970F), Android 9, CPU: Exynos 9 9820, GPU: Mali-G76

  1. Resolution Note (2020.1.X):

By design: too many instances used in the compute shader, causing huge memory consumption and GPU stalls, some device drivers can't handle that.
