Regression
Yes
2D-Sprite shown in scene like 3D-object
2D-Sprite shown in scene like 3D-object
when you drag the sprite in 2D scene view, the Editor SHOULD switch to the new RectTransform gizmo automatically
2) How can we reproduce it using the example you attached
regression - not reproduces in 4.5.0f2, but reproduces in 4.6.0f1 and 5.0.0b11
1 Create new project and import some image there
2 Select this image in Project view and set "Texture type" to Sprite (in Inspector)
3 Make sure that you switched Scene view in "2D" mode and import this sprite to the scene - notice that it renders like sprite (has rectangle around it, and blue ring in the center)
4 Close Editor without saving
5 Open project again
6 Make sure that Scene view is already in "2D" mode and import sprite to the scene - notice that it renders NOT like a sprite (see attached image)
7 Switch Scene view in "3D" and back to "2D" mode - notice that sprite renders like sprite again
Expected result: this sprite should be rendered like a sprite all times - OR
that when you drag the sprite in 2D scene view, the Editor switches to the new RectTransform gizmo automatically
You can use attached project to reproduce the bug
Please see attached images and video for steps 6-7
