[Tree Creator] Tree Material resets to default when altering Tree Component Properties

How to reproduce:
1. Open the "SampleScene" Scene in the attached "SpallRepro.zip" Project
2. Press on the "OptimizedTree" GameObject
3. Under the "Materials" Dropdown on the Mesh Renderer Component assign "SpacialMappingWireframe" Material to the first Element
4. Try altering "Tree Seed" slider
5. Observe the assigned Material

Expected behavior: The Material does not change
Actual behavior: The Material resets to the default "Optimized Bark Material" Material

Reproducible with: 2017.4.21f1, 2018.3.7f1, 2019.1.0b4, 2019.2.0a6

  1. Resolution Note:

    Starting from 2020.1, the TreeCreator will only be available as a package in GitHub, where Unity developers and users will be able to contribute to its development and maintenance. To support this move, we are suspending bug fixes until the TreeCreator is a package. However, although TreeCreator will not available directly in the Unity Editor, Unity will continue to support any Assets made with TreeCreator
