Templates set as favorite does not update the sorting in the Create a new VFX Asset window when the Template was set as favorite with “Sort By Favorite” sorting already selected

Visual Effects

-

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new Unity project using the Universal 3D template
  2. Install the Visual Effect Graph package (com.unity.visualeffectgraph)
  3. Open the Create a new VFX Asset window (Assets > Create > Visual Effects > Visual Effect Graph)
  4. Set the sorting to "Sort By Favorite"
  5. Favorite any template by clicking the star icon
  6. Observe the Create a new VFX Asset window

Actual results: The favorited template does not appear at the top of the list

Expected results: The favorited template appears at the top of the list

Reproducible with versions: 6000.5.0a8

Can’t test with versions: 6000.0.69f1, 6000.3.10f1, 6000.4.0b11 (due to no sorting functionality)

Tested on (OS): Ubuntu 24.04, MacOS Silicon Tahoe 26.2

Notes:

  • The sorting updates when either the window is reopened or the sorting is changed to any other sorting and then back to favorite, but does not update when a template is favorited
