Screen tearing in Scene View when using DirectX12
How to reproduce:
1. Open the project “IN-97825_DX12-tearing“
2. Go to Game View and in the Aspect options disable and enable back VSync
3. In the Scene View shake the camera by using right click on the mouse
Expected result: No screen tearing can be seen in the Scene View
Actual result: Screen tearing appears around the cube or generally in the Scene View
Reproducible with: 2021.3.50f1, 2022.1.0a1, 2022.3.61f1, 6000.0.46f1, 6000.1.0b14, 6000.2.0a8
Reproducible on: Windows 11
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
- The tearing is inconsistent until it happens. Might take up to 10 times until reproduced. User experiences tearing every time
- Issue was tested on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
- DX11 does not produce tearing
- Resizing the Scene View window sometimes helps reproduce the issue
- Toggling VSync sometimes helps reproduce the issue
- Sometimes the tearing will just happen for a second and frames synchronize. Other times it is persistant
- User reports tearing specifically with VSync OFF while I experience tearing with both, usually VSync ON
- Dragging between different displays helps reproduce the issue
- GPU load seems to have an effect on the amount of tearing
- To reproduce the issue better, helps to not have Game View visible at the same time as the Scene View
