Turns out this issue was caused because putting additional logic into my automatic property caused in infinite loop call on the getter.
public static bool TrackTap {
get { return TrackTap; }
set {
if(TrackTap == value*) { return; }
TrackTap = value;
if(value) { GesturesTracked += TapDelegate; }
else { GesturesTracked -= TapDelegate; }
}
}
I imagine that the getter for this calls itself repeatedly. Unfortunate that no error is thrown and Unity just crashes on play.

That is, within an automatic property

Unfortunately I cannot see your attached script so I cannot verify this issue is the same as the one I encountered. However, I am working on a macbook pro, and if I call a property's getter from within its setter, unity crashes.
