[Performance] Multiple child folders causes a slow down when refocusing Unity window
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start a new project
2. Add user attached DemoAsset.cs script
3. Click on "Demo" in the top menu, and select "CreateAssets"
4. When it's finished, close the popped up dialog box and minimize or defocus Unity window
5. Reopen or select Unity window
6. Observe that the Unity window appears frozen at this point
Expected result: multiple child folders should not cause a significant delay refocusing the Unity window
Reproduced in: 2018.2.0a2, 2018.1.0b10, 2017.3.1p3, 2017.2.2f1, 2017.1.3p2

Resolution Note:
This problem is being investigated and will be reevaluated soon, but we can't promise any quick fix as this is not a regression and currently we're changing the asset pipeline backend with the purpose of being able to solve such problems through better design.
