"InvalidOperationException" is randomly thrown in the Console when working in a URP project on a non-4k screen with the "Editor Default Text Rendering Mode” set to “Bitmap”
Reproduction steps:
1. Open an existing or create a new URP project on a non-4k screen
2. Go to Edit > Preferences > General and make sure “Editor Default Text Rendering Mode” is set to “Bitmap”
Actual result: “InvalidOperationException: EnsureRunningOnMainThread can only be called from the main thread” is thrown in the Console
Expected result: No error is thrown in the Console
Reproducible with: 6000.2.4f1 (by the user)
Reproduced on: Windows 11 (10.0.26100) X64 (by the user)
Not reproduced on: Windows 11 Pro (25H2) (by CQA), no other environment tested
Notes:
- The issue was not reproduced by CQA
- The issue seems to happen randomly for the user with no clear reproduction steps, apart from the ones mentioned at the top of the description (steps above might be incomplete and some might be unnecessary)
- The issue started happening after a license check, however, they report that it seems to be more of a general issue rather than a license check-related one
- Full error message from the user’s Editor.log is in the internal comments
- Links to discussion forums related to similar or even the same issue can be found in the internal comments
