Native Plugin forces Editor and Build to freeze/crash on quit
Steps to reproduce:
On 5.6.x and up to 2017.1.0a5
1. Open user attached project
2. Press play
3. Stop play mode and exit Unity
4. Editor freezes
On 2017.1.0a6 and later
1. Open user attached project
2. Press Play
3. Editor crashes without reporter
Expected outcome: No crash, unity exits play mode and exits editor with no issue.
Actual outcome: On later 2017.1.x versions Unity crashes when entering play mode. Other versions freeze on exit.
Reproduced on 2017.1.0b2, 2017.1.0a6, 5.6.0p3, 5.5.3p1, 5.5.0p4, 5.4.5p1
Notes: Building project doesn't crash editor. Standalone build freezes on exit in 5.5.x versions and higher
DLL can't be imported and tested on editor in 5.5.x, even though build works. Reported as separate bug.

Just asking because I have the same problem right now:
If this is "by design", what could cause this issue and what could solve this?
