"Assembly 'Packages/com.unity.ai.assistant...' is conflicting with an assembly shipped with Unity and will be ignored" warnings are shown when installing Unity AI
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new Unity project using a 3D Universal Template
- Click on the AI icon in the toolbar
- Click "Agree and install Unity AI"
- Observe the Console once installed
Actual results: "Assembly 'Packages/com.unity.ai.assistant/Plugins/CodeAnalysis/System.... is conflicting with an assembly shipped with Unity and will be ignored" warnings are shown
Expected results: No warnings are shown
Reproducible with versions: 1.0.0-pre.12 (6000.5.0a2, 6000.5.0a4)
Not reproducible with versions: 1.0.0-pre.12 (6000.3.3f1, 6000.4.0b3, 6000.5.0a1)
Can’t test with versions: 6000.0.65f1 (AI Assistant not available)
Tested on (OS): Windows 11, macOS 26.1 (M1 Pro)
Notes:
- The warnings are clearable and do not occur after initial installation
- New project must be created each time for testing
