[Android] Player containing default Terrain crashes on certain devices using Adreno 3xx/4xx series GPU
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached "Terrain Crash" project
2. Build and Run project to Android device
Actual result: Player gets opened
Expected result: Crash occurs
Regression introduced with - 2017.3.0a7
Reproducible with - 2018.1.0b1, 2017.3.0p1, 2017.3.0a7
Not reproducible with - 2017.3.0a6
Fixed in - 2018.2.0a1, 2018.1.0b12, 2017.4.1f1

Can reproduce this using latest unity release (NOT beta) 2017.3.1f1 and Sony xperia Z3 Compact. Z3 compact GPU is Adreno 330.
My app worked well on Huawei p10 lite, but crashed on z3c. I spent 2 days troubleshooting.... Deleting terrain fixes it. Will try beta branch to see if it works there.
Sad to see such an issue present in the main release for this long, occurring in very simple projects.

on lenovo k5 its fine on 2017.2 but crashes 2017.4.1f as soon as terrain is added

Can be reproduced using Samsung Galaxy S6. When will the fix for this will come out? Our game is using the default Unity Terrain. Although we found a workaround by reading some threads that changing the texture compression of Terrain textures not to be in ASTC does the trick. But, ASTC is a recommended compression for mobile textures though so we will still be waiting for a proper bug fix instead of compromising possible performance downhill.

For me It's a critical issue which needs to be fixed as fast as possible.
It disallows to deploy any game that is using Terrains

I have the same problem. When I try to load a scene with a terrain, it crash on Samsung J5 device. I will try with 2017.3.0a6 and I will come with a feedback.

I can reproduce this problem on Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Is there any way I can receive an early copy of Unity 2018.2.0a1 ?
