Maverick and Unity performance issues
On some Mac's with OS X 10.9 Unity performance is very bad, including stuttering, editor freezes, editor lags and similar.
We found that there seems to be a leak in Maverick's OpenGL ARB VBO implementation.
Our text rendering creates and destroys a lot of VBO's so it is most likely that this happened after around 10 minutes of working with Unity and the inspector or other text heavy components in unity uploading a lot of geometry.
Terrains will be especially affected, but of course just loading a scene / unloading a scene will load / unload VBO's for all the meshes too.
This issue has been fixed with a workaround in 4.3.4. We are working with Apple to get a proper fix done, at which point we will be able to remove the workaround.

I need to know if this is COMPLETELY fixed or not, or this unity problem is not doing anyone any good. Please COMPLETELY fix this or a lot of people are starting to get mad.

This is still a problem: New Mac, Unity Pro and all - I would think I have paid enough!
Unity crashes every day 5-10 times, even small new fresh projects, not just old complex ones.

Yes, we also have the same problem. We are considering switching to Windows.
This has been a problem for us with 4.5 through 4.6.
I have a brand new iMac 27" with i7 processor and unity crashes every 30 min or so.
My Level Designer has the same problem on a iMac 27" from 2012. Both running OSX10.9.5
It is costing too much time to continue like this, and there does not seem to be a fix in the making.
We will most likely switch to Windows any time now. :-/

We have Mac players reporting Unity Crash on their Macs. Please contact me if there is a fix I can suggest on the Mac? Most of the players reporting are running Maverick 10.9.5. Crashes after a couple of minutes of play.

Unfortunately this issue is still alive. I'm experiencing it since start of Unity 4.5.x cycle on each version until the latest 4.5.5f1. My iMac freezes about 2-10 times per day. Wrote begin of November to Unity's support and submitted also a bug report but nothing happened yet. Please make working with Unity fun again because now it's a really annoying and terrible ux :(

I've a Pro version of Unity 3 and it has the same problems with Mavericks and Yosemite. It is unusable, it hangs every 5-10 minutes for at least 2-3 mins each time. I paid 3000$ for the license, i can't afford to upgrade to unity 4/5 and i've now an unusable software. I find this unfair.

I'm Working with OsX 10.9.4 and still have terrible problems with Unity 4.5.3 and 4.5.4f1 and p1.
The editor crash every 5 or 10 minutes, especially on importing new assets or trying to save scenes.
Please resolve, it's a nightmare
