Application freezes on the Kindle Fire (first generation)

Android

-

AngryBots works incorrectly on the Kindle Fire when the multithreaded rendering is enabled. When the mt rendering is enabled, the black screen is shown after the splash images. Only the analog controllers are visible (see the attached screenshot). The rain sound can be heard, but there is no sound of an enemy shooting the player. Analog controllers are responsive and move according to touches. Shooting sound also begins to play once the right analog is moved, but it never stops afterwards.
Disabling the multithreaded rendering solves these issues.

Tested on:
Amazon Kindle Fire (blaze, first generation) with Android 2.3.4

Tested with:
Unity Version 4.3.0b5 (19fb00de019e)

we are also having same issue with amazon first generation devices. all starts working on disabling mt but some graphical issues start generating. we have to blacklist first generation device due to the issue.

Also Amazon Kindle Fire (blaze, first generation) doesn't work properly when mt is on. One of our game was completely broken because of that.

I encountered this on other projects as well. The projects freeze with a dark screen on the Kindle Fire when the multithreaded rendering is enabled. Turning off mt rendering allow the apps to run.

    Tested on:
Amazon Kindle Fire (blaze, first generation) with Android 2.3.4

    Tested with:
    Unity Version 4.3.1f1
