Regression
No
Inspector loses animation menu items until the frame header is moved when the animated GameObject is selected
Steps to reproduce:
- Create and open a new project
- Select Main Camera
- Open Window -> Animation -> Animation
- Create a new clip and add the Transform properties to it
- Edit the Position transform in the Inspector and right-click
- Observe the context menu
Actual results: No items specific to keying in Animation are displayed
Expected results: All items specific to keying in Animation are displayed (Add key, Remove key, etc.)
Reproducible with versions: 2023.1.0a10, 6000.0.73f1,6 000.3.14f1, 6000.4.4f1, 6000.5.0b5, 6000.6.0a3
Tested on (OS): Windows 11 Pro (25H2)
Notes:
- To reproduce again, select any other GameObject and then the animated GameObject again
- Focusing or pressing elsewhere in the Animation does not work, only the frame header moving will return the missing menu items

Resolution Note:
Thank you for reporting a bug to Unity.
After reviewing the behavior, we've confirmed it aligns with the current design and intended use of the feature. We understand this may differ from your expectations or workflow.
The Animation window "must" to be in Preview or Record mode in order to display keying options. You can enable Preview or Record mode by clicking the Play, Preview or Record button, or simply dragging the current time, like in this workflow.
This is the expected behaviour.
We will close this case as 'As Designed.' If you have feedback on how the feature could better meet your needs, please let us know - we value your input and consider it in future improvements.
