Crash on profiling::Dispatcher::AcquireFreeBuffer when the Editor's profiler session acquires a new dispatch buffer to emit UI events

A trending crash issue in the Unity Editor has been observed related to AcquireFreeBuffer.

Reproducible with versions: 6000.0.62f1 - 6000.0.73f1, 6000.3.0b4 - 6000.3.13f1, 6000.4.0f1 - 6000.4.4f1, 6000.5.0a8 - 6000.5.0b3, 6000.6.0a3 (Sentry data)

Reproducible on: Windows 10, Windows 11 (Sentry data)

Notes:

  • Not reproduced by CQA
  • No user reports have been linked to this issue
  • Sentry only collects data for Windows crashes, so we are not able to determine if the issue is reproducible on other environments
